GEOMETRIE DEL POSSIBILE

Geometrie del possibile is a site-specific, semi permanent work commissioned for the Ridotto space at Scuola Piccola Zattere. The Ridotto is designed to explore new forms of welcoming visitiors within an always-accessible environment. It primarily serves as a space for educational activities, workshops, talks, planned or spontaneous exchanges, or simply as a place to gather and spend time. It consists of two rooms.
The challenge was to create an art installation that could also work as infrastructure for supporting this open and versatile uses.
Most of the elements in the installation are thought to move freely and continually recompose the space: cushions can be rearranged, benches moved around and then replegate to their original form, tables can be folded and take out if needed.
If in the first room all the elements are mobile and adaptable, the second room is designed to function as a living room, a place to hang out and chat, where all the cushions are mobile but there are some rigid elements that frame the space.
